Bristow: Bristow and Ichthys Project staff up-lifted by giant yellow bus

The R U OK? Bus has arrived in Darwin and made its first visit to Bristow and Ichthys Project employees ahead of this week’s R U OK? Conversation Tour launch.

Bristow is an offshore helicopter transport service and the R U OK? Afield sponsor. Ichthys Project is a Northern Territory Construction Project and supported R U OK?’s activities at the Garma festival.

The two companies hosted the R U OK? Bus and its crew as part of their efforts to inspire staff to ask the question of one another on a regular basis.

The Bus is at the centre of this year’s R U OK? campaign, which is all about putting mateship back on track by inspiring Aussies to be even better mates by asking this life-changing question more regularly.

Bristow Australia’s Human Resources Manager Keir Williams said people working in fly-in fly-out workplaces need to get behind this message.

“We know that working away from home for long periods can take a toll,” Keir said.

“Part of helping each other deal with that separation is to regularly check-in with one another and talk about it. If a mate is really struggling and needs more than a chat, you can also be the person to help them find expert support.”
