ENTRIES HAVE NOW CLOSED FOR THE R U OK? STUDENT ART COMPETITION

Year 7 and 8 students across Australia are invited to enter the R U OK? National Student Art Competition. 

 

We’re accepting submissions that address the question ‘what does connection mean to you?’.


Students are encouraged to respond to the brief in any way they like. It could: 

  • Demonstrate people or places they feel connected to; 
  • Showcase activities or hobbies that help them feel connected; 
  • Display the ways they help other people to feel connected 

WHAT KINDS OF ARTWORKS ARE ALLOWED?

The artwork must be a drawing, painting, or mixed media work, made from any traditional media including pastels, oil pastels, pen, pencil, charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, oils, mixed media, collage, or other materials.


Photographs and digital artworks will also be accepted.  

 

Videos and three-dimensional sculptures will not be accepted.   

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?

To be eligible to enter this competition, schools must select artworks created by individual students who are:   

(a) a resident of Australia; and   

(b) in Year 7 or Year 8


Participating schools will be asked to submit a maximum of two (2) individual student art pieces. Group entries are not permitted. It will be the responsibility of the school to choose the two individual art pieces for submission.


You will only be able to submit one artwork at a time (so if you are submitting two artworks you will need to complete the form twice). 

IS THERE A PRIZE?

The 16 state finalists (2 from each state or territory) will receive a certificate, art supplies, and R U OK? conversation starters prize pack.


Of the finalists, the five top scoring entries will receive a certificate, prize pack, as well as prizes for their school, including an R U OK?  conversation bench and yarning mat.
